Finally Settled in...

Something new and exciting that has happened in the past month is that we finally settled into our new apartment. We absolutely love it! Our last apartment was perfect for us, but it was definitely time for us to spread our wings and get a bigger place. Our neighbors are extremely quiet (which is a HUGE deal for us since we lived in the basement of a family that had 2 boys under the age of 4 that ran around and screamed all the time, and a baby that added to the chaos). The best part about it, at least my favorite part, is how much natural light we have! It's great!

Since we live so far from family and friends we just wanted to share a few pictures of our new home. So here is a glimpse of our castle...

First off, our new Kitchen! We have a BIG table, with lots of extra chairs ( 4 of them are hiding)

Oh, and we have a washer and dryer that has been conveniently been placed in the kitchen. It's loud when the washer is on so watching a movie when it's going is out of the question most of the time...but, nevertheless WE LOVE IT! It's a huge blessing being able to clean your clothes whenever you feel like it :)

Then, next to the kitchen is my desk/study area. In our basement Cameron and I were in the same area with his desk on one side of the room and mine on the other...didn't work out. haha. We both have different study and organization habits. So we decided to place our desks in different rooms to give us space and serenity when we study. Mine is out in the living room area and his is tucked away in the guest room.

The living room area isn't huge, but it is nice being able to have a real living room where we can enjoy company and movies.

Something that we are pretty proud of is our couch. It is a pull out bed (Queen), it's comfy, and the best part is that it was only 20 bucks! :)

And yes, that is a Green Chest you see for our coffee table. We were searching for a while to find the perfect table and realized that we could make more room in our guest room if we used Cameron's treasure chest as our coffee table. So far it's been a wonderful table.

Our bathroom is another fun part of apartment. It's small( which makes it easy to clean and maintain) but it also has a huge window that lets in so much light!

And I love our cabinets too. There is so much storage for all of my unnecessary smelly hand lotions, bath salts, hair stuff, and everything else a girl seems to have that is used only once a year. It also gives us a place to store our towels ( something that we didn't have in the basement, so we are so grateful for it now)

Then, there is our lovely and well needed guest/storage/cameron's study room. And that desk in the picture on the far right is what we call "Cameron's area"...it's not always this clean, but I appreciate it when it is ;)

And the last room is our bedroom. There isn't much going on as far as decorations but we are enjoying it being simple since the rest of the house I have attacked with pictures ( I kind of have an obsession with picture frames haha)

And a really nice part of both bedrooms is the large closet. It helps us to stay organized since we have so much stuff.

Within the past few months there have been a lot of things that have changed for us: where our income goes, friends & family relationships, church wards & callings, and jobs. Some are good things and others are thing that we would rather avoid. A lot of it was a result from our move which makes us question whether it was worth it. There is no doubt that we are much happier now than we were before, but how do we know if this was the best thing for our family? Elder Richard G. Scott puts it this way...

“The best way to make a permanent change for good is to make Jesus Christ your model and His teachings your guide for life.”
Cameron and I are always so reassured that big changes (such as this move) never have to be questioned if they are good or not, as long as we are allowing the teachings of the gospel to direct our decisions in this life. We have seen so many good things come from this move and we are so grateful to be able to have a beautiful home like this one! We are both so happy that we made this decision to move to a bigger place . We love and miss everyone and hope some of you can come up to visit us soon!

More posts coming soon... :)
