A blessed life

Tithing is a test of faith with eternal blessings.
Some may read that scripture and think, "well, duh." It amazes me just how true that statement is though. You never seem to comprehend anything fully until you are personally focusing on that particular subject.
Being a newly married couple, Cameron and I have said our fare share of words like, " We can't afford that," or "Guess we can't eat out for a while." It's not something that is uncommon i'm almost certain of it. Every newlywed lives in their own realm of a budget. Some may look at that word " BUDGET" and cringe their noses in disgust. Sometimes I find myself doing that, but it's usually in those things that make us cringe that allow for a pathway of greater beauty in our lives. It's usually those moments when our patience is tested, or our will power is pushed beyond its strength.

Elder Hales said once,"To those who faithfully and honestly live the law of tithing, the Lord promises an abundance of blessings. Some of these blessings are temporal, just as tithes are temporal. But like the outward physical ordinances of baptism and the sacrament, the commandment to pay tithing requires temporal sacrifice, which ultimately yields great spiritual blessings."
There has not been a day that has gone by in which Cameron and I have doubted paying our tithing. I know that the future will bring many more financial situations that may bring us closer to 'thinking' about if we should or shouldn't pay our tithes, but I know that our faith will remain as it is now, full. Its possible that in the back of our mind we know that we will never have to worry about any finances if we pay our tithes, but what we look forward to the most when paying our tithes is the happiness that paying our tithing brings to our family. Not to say that we may never have to pinch pennies or ride our bikes every once in a while, but we wont ever have to worry that our family will not be taken care of. When we strive to live the Lords law and not the laws which we set up for ourselves, happiness will find us every time.
