Fall Semester is here!

A few months have gone by since our last post, and a lot has happened! It has been very exciting and stressful at the same time. Of course there are lots of fun pictures to share of our family. So let's get started!
Since I am so far behind with everything, these are in no special order.
Enjoy!

First time Alexa has EVER fallen asleep in my arms without being rocked...so sweet.

She is a wild child!

loves brushing her teeth( by herself that is)

reading is her past time

Was exhausted after a few hours at the waterpark on her birthday :)

Not much of a sweet tooth.

She loved opening presents :)

Had way too much fun in her little bucket. Seriously preferred this over her tub!

Rocker!

One more semester for him!!! So happy!

We ALL are :)

Our little cuties birthday party in Ca.
She loved meeting and seeing everyone!

Jumping in her bounce house her grandpa got her for her brithday!
She was crazy about it!

Getting ready to end our VERY short trip to CA and head back to Utah.

Oh, and the band-aid is from a scab she scraped off earlier that day
(wouldn't stop bleeding)
(Left) Alexa-2 days old(aug.9th 2012)
 (Right) Alexa- 1 years old(aug.7th 2013)

I cannot believe Alexa has already reached 1 year! I can't say it has gone fast, but, as a mom I can say I want it to slow down. I love looking at the two pictures above because it is pretty spot on with exactly ONE year difference. It amazes me how much, not only how her body has grown and developed, but how much her cognition has as well.

She laughs at you when she thinks something is funny

Runs away when she has something she isn't allowed to have( yes, RUNS!)

She communicates with sign language on what she wants:
-please
-all done
-more

Starting to understand what the nodding and shaking of the head means
(usually shakes her head when she either doesn't want something, or knows she isn't allowed to have it)

She understands that objects have names and meanings, and says them:
-book
-dog
(even though she is still terrified of them)
-dance
( starts dancing as soon as you say the word)
-pray
(she can even fold her arms to join in prayer)
-say's "all done" when finished
-say's "again"
-understands 'outside'

She screams out of pure joy and excitement
(haha totally a girl)

She mimics just about anything

It amazes me all that she has learned in such a short time! It's so fun being able to be with her everyday and seeing all of the fun things she learns and encounters. At the same time, it is such a huge responsibility knowing that she is seriously watching everything I do now. I know that she will keep me on my toes for a VERY long time.

wearing mommys shirt :)
(fyi- its tied in the back)

relaxing with her daddy

Today is also the day that Cameron is out in San Antonio Texas for his very first Medical School interview! He left yesterday morning, so it has been lonely the last day and a half, but Alexa and I are so proud of him! He says right now it is very HUMID and WARM there, but (in a good way) it reminds him of California. From what he has heard and seen, he really likes it there. Let's just cross our fingers that the medical school likes him too.

Update with medical schools
So far Cameron has 3 other interviews lined up for him- Mesa, Arizona(January)-Glendale, Arizona(December)- and Henderson, Nevada(November). We are very excited that he has been given at least 4 opportunities-hoping for more though :)

We are still in need of help with his expenses for traveling, so anything you can donate helps! You know, even if you hooked us up with discounts somewhere, that would be awesome too! We feel so grateful for everyone who has helped us get this far in our journey. Words will never be able to express our gratitude, but we hope you can understand how thankful we really are. We love you all so much! Cameron has worked so hard getting to this point in his college career so any support you can give is appreciated!

I am hoping I didn't leave anything out from the last few months (although i'm sure i did). Only a few more months til we get to be back with family for a little bit. Love you all!
xoxo
