Oh, it sure is a wonderful life...

It came! And it hasn't stopped coming...the happiest day of our life that is. We are now officially proud parents of a beautiful little girl....Alexa Janae. What a crazy adventure we have had these past 10 months, and now, for the past 5 days!

Alexa was scheduled to come into this world by induction on Wednesday the 8th, but decided that she wanted to suprise the world and come on Tuesday August 7th. I started having slight contractions on the Monday the 6th, but it didn't seem to be anything too major. Then monday night came and I was up every hour with pains, and finally at 4am, I decided I wanted to soak in a warm bath to relax... the best, yet worst idea EVER. It was the best idea because it definitely relaxed me and it also made my contractions come sooner. By the time I got out of the bath at 6am, my contractions were about 2 minutes apart, sounds like a good thing right? well that part was, but! the contractions were so much more painful because of how relaxed my body was! AHHH!!!

So it was finally time for the moment we had prepared for...gather our things and head to the hospital :) but that was about all we were really prepared for. haha

Fast forward about 6 hours, and I lasted until I was about 8cm dilated until I finally gave in and got an epidural. haha Props to all those mom's out there who delivered without any meds---you are my hero!

At around 2pm, my mother made it from Las Vegas and was able to be at my side the rest of my stay in the hospital. The fun part is that she was planning on coming Tuesday because my induction was scheduled for Wednesday; I called her Tuesday morning at the hospital telling her it was time and she left an hour sooner than she had planned :) A few hours after she got here, the doc said it was time to get this little girl out.

After being in labor for nearly 12 hours, Cameron and I were blessed to meet our little girl

Alexa Janae

The whole 10 months anticipating Alexa's arrival, Cameron would always say that he would be scared to even look at our baby because of how fragile babies are....
But the moment the nurses brought the Alexa back from her bath, the nurses asked who wanted to hold her...Cameron jumped in and didn't hesitate...

Natural Daddy

Grandma was soo happy to be there to see her newest grand baby being born. My mom was such a trooper through the whole labor- she was by my side the whole way- and I know it was not only a bonding moment for her and I, but also for her 1st granddaughter and herself. My mom couldn't take her eyes off Alexa, but neither can Cameron and I.

 Tired and Happy new mom!

Her first ride in her car seat- she was very comfy :)

Very proud dad... And an awesome one too!

Our little angel...

Cameron and I couldn't be happier with the new addition to our family. Even with the sleepless nights, it still seems as though every ounce of sacrifice given is nothing compared to the blessings we are receiving each day just having this little girl apart of our eternal family. Can't wait for everyone to meet our sweet Alexa.

And we would just like to thank everyone who has helped us out and made this transition easier. We appreciate all the love and support!

She is reinventing our world...

Children definitely do reinvent your world...

So much has happened that finding the time to sit down and update the blog has seemed nearly impossible...but AT LAST! I have found a few extra moments to share with friends and family some updates on our little family...

Well, first of all Alexa is growing so much! She now smiles at us and is such a good baby. Her back and neck muscles are so strong--she has been holding her head up on her own since she was born. At 2 weeks she weighed 8lb 4oz. and was almost 22 inches long!  She is now 6 weeks and I am sure she has grown so much more. Can't wait to get her to the doctors to see how much she has grown.

And when she was 2 weeks we went to get her pictures done...A few of our favorites :)

We just can't get enough of how cute she is! :)

Some family updates:

We are finally moved and settled into our new place. We moved in with the wonderful family I work for and it couldn't have been a better move ;) haha But I just know I would not be able to handle working with Alexa if we weren't living in their basement. It's amazing what happens when you are patient and do what the Lord needs you to do. It's not as quiet all the time like we are use to, but I think that's the best part :) It's nice to have a family 'feel' in the home when family is so far away- if that makes sense. We are so grateful for them and all that they have done for us! Thanks RCB! haha

Cameron has also started school and is continuing to work. He is probably just as tired as I am but he is definitely a trooper since he works til 10pm and has to drive about an hour to get home.

Like I mentioned before, I am back working and absolutely cant imagine being able to survive without living where I work. It's a huge blessing for sure to even have this available to us.

Besides a growing baby, nothing really new to update. Mom, Dad, and baby are all healthy and very much happy :)
